birdThere is no known nutritional value to SPF. There has been a very small percentage of SPF roofs that received minor damage as the result of birds pecking at the surface of an SPF roof. The damage caused is typically very minimal and can be repaired with a tube of urethane caulking.

Recent advancements in technology has shown that the addition of #11 roofing granules into the final top coat has virtually eliminated the occurrence of bird pecks.

Periodic roof inspections will determine if minor repairs are needed from bird damage. One of the advantages of SPF is that even in the unlikely event that the roof surface is damaged, moisture migration will not occur as the SPF is closed cell and damage is limited to the area of the break.
